Free IELTS Essay Checker
Most "free" IELTS essay checkers ask for your email before showing anything useful. Ours gives you your first 3 full checks free: a band score on all four official criteria, the evidence behind each score, and the fixes that raise your band — no account, no card.
What you get for free
Each free check returns an overall band plus the four official criteria — Task Response (or Task Achievement for Task 1), Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range & Accuracy. Every score comes with a short justification and exact quotes from your own essay as evidence.
Why it stays free
Free checks let you see the feedback quality before paying for anything. If you practice daily and want more than 3 checks a month, plans start at $9.9 — but for occasional pre-exam checks, the free tier is genuinely useful on its own.
How to use it
Paste your essay, add the question prompt so Task Response is scored fairly, and pick Task 1 or Task 2. You get your band breakdown in seconds. Revise the flagged paragraphs and check again — the score moves only when your writing does.
Free checker vs human correction
A human tutor takes days and charges per essay. This checker returns the same four-criteria structure an examiner uses, in seconds, free for your first checks. Use it for daily practice and save paid human feedback for full mock essays close to your exam date.
Frequently asked
Is it really free — what's the catch?
Your first 3 checks are free with no account and no credit card. After that you can upgrade if you need more, but there is no trial countdown, hidden renewal, or forced subscription.
Do I need to register to use it?
No. Open the checker, paste your essay, and get your band score. Nothing to install and nothing to sign up for your first 3 checks.
How accurate is a free check?
Free checks use the same calibrated scoring as paid checks — the same rubric, the same model. The only limit is the number of checks per month, not the quality.
How many free checks do I get?
3 free essay checks. If you need more, Starter gives you 30 checks a month and Pro is unlimited.
